Hair Transplant

Hair transplant is a minor surgery in which follicular units are removed from one part of the body (donor area) to be implanted on another part (recipient area) which is the bald area.

Hair grows in units termed follicular units which contain 1-4 mature hairs, 1-2 fine hairsconnective tissue sheath, sebaceous glands, and muscle called “Erector Pilli”.

There are two techniques utilized in hair transplant: FUT (Follicular Unit transplant) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction).

FUT

Follicular Unit Transplant is an outpatient procedure, where a strip that contains thousands of hairs is removed from the donor area to be dissected into Follicular units under the microscope. Follicular units are carefully prepared by our team before implanting them into the recipient area.
In FUT:

– Large areas can be covered in one session

– Greater density is achieved

– Less care is needed compared to FUE

FUE

Follicular Unit Extraction is a hair transplant technique that involves removing individual follicular units from the donor area. These grafts are then implanted into the recipient area, where the patient desires more hair to provide a naturally looking hair appearance.
The best candidates for FUE are:

– Patients interested in a small size procedure

– Patients with limited scalp elasticity

– Patients who would rather cut their hair short

– Patients who are ready to shave the donor area for the procedure.

Where can we implant hair?

– Scalp (head)

– Beard and Moustache

– Eyebrows

– Eyelashes

– Chest and Arms
